These examples show my work on old photographic prints, using Photoshop and AI tools for different kinds of intervention. Each comparison keeps the source photograph visible alongside the edited version.
What changes in an edited photograph
Cleaning marks and adjusting contrast differ from reconstructing missing parts or adding colour. Reconstructed detail and added colour are interpretations. The source photograph remains the reference for what was recorded.
The amount of intervention depends on the condition of the print and the intended result. The examples below show that range.
Examples
Damaged print with reconstructed facial detail
A small photograph in poor condition. Some facial detail was reconstructed during processing.
Torn photograph, also colorized
A black-and-white photograph with several tears. The edited version includes colour as well as repair work.
Reconstruction of missing areas
A torn photograph in which parts of the image were reconstructed.
Cleaning and tonal adjustments
A larger print in relatively good condition, with cleaning and adjustments to contrast and sharpness.
